- Once the public hearing has been called to order, registration for speakers from the public will be closed. This applies to those who wish to appear in person, by phone, or online.
- Once the public hearing has been closed, no further comments or materials from the public can be accepted.
Public hearings generally proceed as follows:
- Call to Order - Mayor or Chair
- Review of Procedures - Town Clerk
- Review of Public Notices - Town Clerk
- Recommendations:
- Summary of Staff report and Staff recommendation and/or
- Recommendation(s) of relevant Town Boards and Commissions
- Applicant presentation and testimony, where applicable
- Questions by the Council, Board, Commission, or Town Attorney
- Written documents are entered into the record - Town Clerk
- Speakers who have registered before the opening of the public hearing are called on by the Mayor or Chair and may be limited to 3 minutes.
- Additional questions by Council, Board, Commission, or Town Attorney
- Applicant closing statement, where applicable
