The La Plata Community Foundation engages in grant-making activities to enhance the health, welfare and well-being of the citizens of the Town of La Plata; initiate new, and support existing programs to enhance the cultural, social, and educational lives of the citizens of La Plata; and encourage, support, and facilitate philanthropy in La Plata through donor services and community partnerships.
The Town of La Plata is an affiliate of the Main Street Maryland program, which provides designated communities with support for economic planning, marketing and promotion, training and education.
The Beautification Commission implemented the Beautification Commission Grant Program to encourage residents, Home Owners Associations, school groups, Scout and youth groups, civic organizations, businesses, and other community members to help beautify our town.
