Departments
There are several service departments within the Town Government in order to provide specialized services within our town. Our goal is to create an environment that serves our citizens and creates a community where they are proud to raise a family and to call the Town of La Plata their home. Our commitment to safety, teamwork, and public service are just a few of our priorities.

Executive

Finance
The Finance Department is primarily responsible for managing the Town's fiscal resources. This includes the Town's budgets, Town taxes, utility billing, and financial reports.

Legislative
The Legislative Services Department maintains subject files, case files, legislative files, plans, procurement files, speeches, correspondence, minutes, transcripts, proceedings and other related records of the Town government.

Planning
The Planning Department provides planning advice to the Mayor and Town Council, La Plata citizens, Planning Commission, Design Review Board, Board of Appeals, and Parks and Recreation Commission. The department staff helps to create communities that offer better choices for where and how people live.

The Police Department provides safety and security to all Town of La Plata residents, businesses and visitors.
